Marcia Myerberg joined Root Markets in August 2006 as Chief Executive Officer. For the past 13 years, Ms. Myerberg has been Chief Executive Officer of Myerberg & Company, L.P., a NASD broker-dealer committed exclusively to the fixed income markets with an emphasis on mortgages. Ms. Myerberg has acted as financial advisor to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Small Business Administration in the sales of over $3 billion of residential and commercial mortgage loans and securities. Ms. Myerberg also developed the Mortgage Purchase Program for the Federal Home Loan Banks of Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Seattle.
Prior to starting her own firm, Ms. Myerberg was a Director at Salomon Brothers Inc, where she worked with Mr. Ranieri. While at Salomon Brothers, she created The Mortgage Corporation Limited in London, one of the first mortgage origination and securitization firms in the U.K., developing the infrastructure, advertising and marketing programs to introduce and establish the “brand” in the U.K. mortgage market. She also engineered and managed the turnaround of Residential Funding Corporation (now GMAC-RFC), a secondary market conduit and the largest issuer of private mortgage-backed securities in the U.S. In 1988, she developed and presented Salomon Brothers’ recommendations on securitization of the Japanese mortgage market to the Japanese Ministry of Finance in Tokyo. As Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance and Treasurer of Freddie Mac, Ms. Myerberg pioneered the development of the Collateralized Mortgage Obligation, which we refer to as CMO, with Mr. Ranieri and introduced Freddie Mac’s 15-year, multifamily and adjustable-rate pass-through securities programs to the capital markets. She also has served as Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns, where she started Bear Stearns Home Loans Limited in London and introduced the first long-term U.S.-style fixed rate mortgages and their securitization to the U.K. capital markets. Since 2005, Ms. Myerberg has served on the Board of Directors of Security Savings Bank, Las Vegas, NV and from 1998 to 2000 was a member of the Board of Directors of TeleBanc Financial Corporation, Arlington, VA now E-Trade Bank. In May 1994, she was a guest lecturer at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, Colloquium on Securitization. From 1989 to 1992, she was a member of the GMAC/Residential Funding Corporation Advisory Board. Ms. Myerberg is an NASD Registered Securities Principal, Series 24, Municipal Securities Principal, Series 53, Registered Representative, Series 7 and Series 63.
